One of the native applications that further changes in iOS has received 10 is the Message. The application comes loaded with new features that have liked, and much, to users, but it seems that Apple would have to make some other change in the encryption used for instant messaging service.
iMessage in iOS will have 10 some exciting new features, such as writing with the touch screen, the ability to send GIFs and much more. But according to some experts cryptographers, Apple should change the encryption because iMessage could be at risk.
One of the things that have always characterized Apple is by the level of security and privacy it offers its users. However, it seems that this group of experts has detected a vulnerability that affects the safety of iMessage, so Apple may make changes to its encryption to fix it.
Detected a vulnerability in encryption iMessage
A team of cryptographers belonging to the Johns Hopkins University has alerted Apple, as recently detected a vulnerability that affects encryption iMessage. Through this failure would jeopardize the security and privacy of users, as it would be possible to get all the multimedia content (photos and videos) you send through this courier.
This vulnerability iMessage has been baptized with the name of “ciphertext attack” and could jeopardize communication between users using this messaging platform. Although this would have to be exposed to dangerous networks to be vulnerable to attack.
These cryptographers claim that the American company does not usually change the encryption keys very regularly. That allows hackers to take things more slowly and investigate thoroughly to come up with a vulnerability that allows them to access.
Anyway, this team of cryptographers has already warned Apple and recommended the company to change the encryption iMessage to prevent possible attacks. We hope ahead of the final version of iOS in October to implement these changes strengthen the security of iMessage.
